#๐ฅSome expreriences with DID/OSDD are so horrible i wouldnt wish it on anyone. Some experiences make me feel so incredibly lucky that i thank the universe for lining up like this for me.
Both can and should coexist and often do with individuals!
I have a genuine question.
When alters form for other systems, do they usually form/front for the first time confused af and not knowing who they are/what they are/ where they are?
Because ours usually already know the jist. "My name is [], I am an alter in a system who was formed from [], and while I may not know my role here yet, I know I'm in [this general area] and I should answer to [body's name]."
Genuine answer:
From what I understand, most splits are similar to yours. You may not know a name but you may has a sense of identity and knowledge. For us to put it in feeling terms, we have the facts but not the same emotional connection. A new split may know they are part of the system but may not yet feel that they are part of a bigger whole/family/collective.
I have definitely seen it happen where someone doesn’t know anything but it’s not the most common for sure. I think the most common version of it would be, like, new alter splits and doesn’t believe in systems (doesn’t have the words or know what’s going on/who they are) and doesn’t have the same identity as who they supposedly were so “you know what no I was wrong I’m not a system”. It’s a more covert version of the “confused af” splits
do i need therapy? no, but the bitches in my head do
Does anyone else get really sleepy when they’re dissociating? Like we have no reason to be tired right now but we don’t feel capable of doing anything other than sleeping because we’re super blurry and can’t even tell who’s fronting.
We get this and for us, when we switch it seems to go away. But until we switch it’s impossible to do anything
“I can call on my alters, communicate very well with them, etc…”
“That’s impossible! It takes a very long time to get to that point!”
I mean… yeah? What makes you think I haven’t had a system for the last 10 years or so?
If a system makes you uncomfortable because of the system labels they use that’s a you problem not a them problem
If I just private one semi-dormant PK bot for every new one I add that means my system isn’t growing right?

aodmc is antiendo fyi
I appreciate the headsup! They aren’t someone I follow but because I follow the DID tag sometimes anti-endo blogs come up. So I want to take this chance to reiterate that I am pro-endo as I believe there’s no way to discount the experiences of so many people.
However I also use the blog as a collection of posts I resonate with and think that both sides of the argument have tips and information that is valuable! It’s been a bit of a struggle being a traumagenic system who is helped primarily by traumagenic advice/resources while also believing strongly in the existence in other types of systems.
I completely understand the people who are uncomfortable with me reblogging from both sides! I don’t want anyone to think that just because I’ve reblogged a post from someone that I’m endorsing them. And I welcome you to block anyone you’re uncomfortable with and if you want to unfollow that’s also understandable. I try to say often enough on this blog where I stand so that no one gets the wrong idea.
I’m going to leave that post up because I think it’s good advice but I’ll also post this so everyone knows that I support endogenic systems and to not go follow that blog.
And for endogenic systems who are looking for a list of people to block: @sysmed-blocklist has a pretty extensive list and if anyone has a pro-endo list or something I’m happy to share that as well (And I know there’s been some debate about the term sysmed but the blog is fairly respectful)
Sometimes I struggle to understand systems with hosts. Seems like such a different way to experience the world
